WHY YOU DO NOT NEED TO ORDER THE PROGRAM ON A CD

First, if you purchased the current version of Iowa Support Master, it updated and available for you to download throughout the year at no charge. The download version is always the current version. So, if we update the software, you can download it and install it on the other computers.

The CD we sent out is the current version at the time of the program release. Absent a major malfunction or bug, we do not send out CDs during the year to update various features. The computers connected to the Internet will be updated, those that are not will not be updated.

So how do we install the program and keep it up to date on other computers. It is very simple. Click here to download step by step instructions which you can print, or just follow the following instructions.

You need to be at the computer where the download file has been saved. Always save it to your desktop so you can easily find it. You can delete it later.

Buy some blank CD-R media. Buy cheap. Wal-Mart, Hy-Vee, Stales, OfficeMax, etc. all carry them.

1. All computers have "CD burners." This is your CD drive.

2. Put your curser on the 2008Setup icon on your desktop. This is the file you downloaded. Right click and select "Send to.." a menu will appear and you must select your CD/DVD Drive. It has a little CD icon and it may say just "CD Drive" or "CD/DVD Drive" followed by the drive letter. You may then see a pop-up that says additional information is included with this file, do you wish to include it. Click Yes.

3. Place a blank CD-R in your CD drive and wait a few seconds.

Windows XP users: You will see a pop-up with a box giving you this option: "Open writeable CD Folder using Windows Explorer."  Select this option.

4. A window will pop-up. You should then see the ISM install file in the window. Click the option on the left that says "Write these files to CD" then another window will appear - just click on "Next"

5. Depending on the speed of your burner, it should only take 30 seconds or so to burn the install file to the CD. Your burner will eject the CD.

6. You are then given the option to burn it to more CDs. You don't need to do that, just use the one CD you burned.

7. Using a permanent marker, write the date and ISM install file on the blank CD.

8.  Take it to the other computers and install the file by placing the CD in the drive. Double click on the "My Computer" icon, drag the slider down to the CD/DVD drive and double click on it. A window will appear with the ISM install file. Just double click on the file and away you go!
